I think the real estate idea is awesome, actually. There used to be these ugly, 360 degree panaramas out there, but some sort of interactive video tour would rock. Maybe you could set it up with a floorplan and when you click a room, a video of that room pops up. You'd probably have to use a ton of Flash for that.
I looked into the real estate thing a little. Right now there are companies that do this, but it is only cost effective for really expensive mansions. There is not a comparable service for mid priced apartments and so forth. I don't know what the costs of this would be, what type of demand there is, or if he major RE companies are already working on it. John is supposedly going to sign up for a RE certification class over the summer, I was going to pick his brain about it once he knew a bit more about the business.
The big thing you would have to do would be to prove that the extra cost of making the video and web site for it would be beneficial to the RE company by increasing their sales and leading to a close in a quicker time.
